In partnership with Jefferson Healthcare and the Food Co-op in Port Townsend, JCFM is offering families with low incomes a 7-month voucher for $20 of fresh fruit and vegetable (VegRx). Vouchers are given while supplies last by Jefferson Healthcare clinicians when children come in for a medial appointment or Well-Child-Check. VegRx is redeemable at the Port Townsend and Chimacum Farmers Markets from June through December and at the Food Co-op in Port Townsend during the months of January-March. We trialed this program in 2018 and are hosting our second trial season in 2019. Visit the market info booth or ask your child's doctor at your next medical appointment for more information about VegRx.

Many seniors have expressed interest in VegRx. While we are trialing this program our scope is limited to families with children 18 and under.

  1. Receive VegRx prescription from participating Jefferson Healthcare providers.

  2. Visit the Market's Info booth at the Port Townsend or Chimacum Farmers Markets to redeem prescription.

  3. Your prescription is good for 7-months and can be refilled at the market booth, $20 per month. Spend VegRx on fresh vegetables, fruit, herbs, vegetable plant starts, and seeds at any farm booth.

  4. At the end of the market season in December return to the market booth for a prescription redeemable at the Food Co-op in Port Townsend.
