We are really excited about our chef lineup. Many of you know Chef Arran Stark from our farmers market demos as well as from Jefferson Healthcare. Local food enthusiast and educator, Chef Stark has given the Jefferson Healthcare food services an extreme nutrition makeover. Stark has served in the kitchens of some of the nation’s most prestigious restaurants and institutions, including the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, Massachusetts. He is a methods chef, which means that he cooks from scratch and flavors by taste rather than using recipes. This means that you have to catch Stark in action to bring his techniques home.
Local cheese maker, baker, chef and artist, Dylan Stanfield, has been living and working in Port Townsend for the past eight years. Stanfield first discovered his passion in cheese making when he worked at Beecher’s Handmade Cheese in the historic Pike Place Market. He moved to Port Townsend in 2012 to work for Mt. Townsend Creamery as the Head Cheese Maker. During his time at Mt. Townsend, he helped the creamery win multiple awards for a variety of their cheeses. Stanfield and his wife, Jessica Brooks, are the chefs behind Port Townsend Farmers Market vendor Sweet Lamb Baking Company. Additionally, Stanfield applies his skills at Finistere as the baker, pasta maker and pastry chef along with being an avid and trusted forager and mushroom hunter.
Community chef, recipe developer, and educator, Sidonie Maroon, teaches international foodways classes for the Port Townsend Food Coop. Born and raised in Southern Oregon, Maroon shares her creativity and cooking expertise with everyone she meets. Never aspiring to be a restaurant chef, she instead flourishes in her kitchen laboratory where she cooks, blogs, and develops original recipes.

About the Music
On Saturday, May 25th during the Artisan Food Festival, the Port Townsend Farmers Market presents musical seamstress Samara Jade. Weaving an intricate tapestry of catchy sounds, Jade writes remarkable songs and draws on influences such as orchestral folk, jazz, soul, blues, and Appalachian styles. As heart-opening as it is mind-stimulating, Samara’s music might be best described by her fans, one of whom dubbed it ‘Philosopholk.’ Samara will be playing on the Community Center grass. www.samarajademusic.com
