Today is the second to last Port Townsend Wednesday Farmers Market of the season! Have you made it to the Port Townsend Wednesday Farmers Market in our new location at the Jefferson Transit Haines Place Park and Ride? Now is the time! Find us this and next week from 2-6pm for farm-direct food, artisan cheese, baked goods and more!
As autumn sets in yet the days are still mostly dry, this is a great time of year to walk to the Port Townsend Wednesday Farmers Market. We are fortunate to be located right next to Kah Tai Park, which has a beautiful walking path along the water from Kearney Street to Landes Street. Walk or bike to the Port Townsend Wednesday Farmers Market this or next week and we will give you a screaming deal on a Port Townsend Farmers Market t-shirt. Come to the market info booth, let us know that you walked or biked to market and we will sell you a t-shirt for only $10!
Mark your calendar for our last Port Townsend Wednesday Farmers Market of the season on September 26. We will have live music by Anne-O and Her Band to celebrate our closing day.
From our vendors
Hopscotch Farm - Stock up on pickles, relish, and preserves for winter. For the last two Wednesday Farmers Markets (9/19 and 9/26), Meghan is offering a 10% discount if you buy three or more jars. Come down to the Park and Ride and check out her selection.
This week One Straw Ranch is featuring pork chops! With all the lovely apples and onions at market, this is the perfect time to try out our baked pork chops with fresh apple sauce recipe. The rich fall flavors of onions, apples, dry mustard, and a hint of brown sugar really compliment the tender, juicy chops. The recipe works well with either our 1” thick bone-in chops or our .75” thick boneless chops. Our pigs are raised on pasture, receive no antibiotics or other junk, and are fed a balanced, gmo-free diet so you can feel good about enjoying our tasty, nourishing pork. We’ll have plenty of pork chops and free recipes at market. See you there!
Only two more weeks to learn and play at POP Club on Wednesdays! This week Jeanne Simmons of the Port Townsend Public Library is leading Storytime at the Port Townsend Wednesday Farmers Market. On Sunday one of our farmers market crew will lead POP at the Chimacum Farmers Market. Come check out POP Club this week!
Registration for kids five to 12 years old is still open. Kids of all ages are welcome to participate in POP Club. Registered kids get $2 for fresh fruit and veggies after they complete the week’s POP activities. Leard more at the farmers market info booth.
